Randy’s Deposit Policy

Randy does not accept deposits on puppies prior to being born nor before they reach 10 days old. He has many reasons for this and never varies from this policy. Accepting deposits prior to this time has lead to problems for buyers from other breeders. Sometimes, after placing a deposit on a litter that has not yet been born, the litter may be significantly smaller than anticipated or perhaps even stillborn. Whatever the reason, when this happens many breeders will keep the deposit until a future litter is on the ground and send them a puppy at that time. Whether purchasing a dog from Randy or not, he advises against this and always cautions potential buyers to be very leery if a breeder insists on a deposit arrangement like this.

Randy’s policy is to take names of interested buyers. As the time nears for the puppies, he determines who is placed nearer the top of the list by a selective process that assures him of who is most interested in the puppy. Once the puppies reach 10 days old and he feels certain of litter size and health, he begins accepting deposits. The process that Randy follows is good for both parties; he as the breeder will not be stuck with a litter of puppies that a customer has “spoken for” only. As the buyer, you are assured that when you place a deposit with Proffers Kennel, you are getting a puppy from the current litter and never be placed on a waiting list while your deposit is held for a future litter.

Once the puppies are 10 days old, we allow 5 business days for your deposit to reach us.  For your convenience we offer a wide variety of payment options. Please refer to the Payment Options page for more information. Unless previous arrangements have been made, once the 5 business days have passed, if payment has not been received we release that puppy as available for the next customer on our waiting list.
